The Little India Street Festival is a new celebration of the precinct, that brings together businesses, community partners, and cultural organisations, to showcase the rich heritage, vibrant culture, and unique identity of Little India. 

Inspired by the stories and trades that have shaped the precinct, the festival transforms its streets into lively spaces filled with cultural experiences, performances, workshops, markets, and interactive activities.

This year's festival is co-created by precinct partners, Indian Heritage Centre and Little India Shop Owners and Heritage Association. Centered on the historical Campbell Lane, look forward to a wide range of free and paid experiences, as you discover the stories behind Little India's historic trades & businesses!

FREE PROGRAMMES FOR ALL

1. Community Performance Showcase

Time: 10am - 6pm

Enjoy a full day of community-led performances inspired by the trades, traditions and communities of Little India!  From Indian classical and folk presentations to multicultural performances, and a live band, enjoy the many colours of Little India at IHC's front facade.

2. Shophouse magnet painting


Time: 10am - 6pm

Shophouses have long been an integral part of Little India, with its distinct colours, styles and ornaments.Create your own shophouse façade with these unique mementos.

 

3. Block Printing


Time: 10am - 6pm

Many Little India merchants utilise block-printing, where handheld stamps featuring iconic Indian motifs such as peacocks, lotus flowers and elephants, are used to print the symbols on fabric. Try your hand at creating your own personalised block-printed crafts!

4. Heritage Bazaar

Time: 10am – 6pm

Discover unique contemporary businesses and entrepreneurs at this curated Heritage Bazaar! Each participating enterprise presents a modern-day interpretation of a trade or business historically associated with Campbell Lane, connecting the precinct’s entrepreneurial past with its evolving commercial landscape today.

5. Food Stalls

Time: 10am - 6pm

Enjoy a selection of street food, snacks, sweets and refreshments presented by participating LISHA vendors!*

6. Children's Exhibition & Jewellery Making

Time: 10am - 6pm

Learn more about the historical trades and enterprises that were once integral to Campbell Lane’s commercial landscape. Tailored for younger audiences, discover the occupations and businesses that supported community life in the precinct.

Younger visitors can also look forward to a jewellery craft activity, where you can bring home your own paper 'gold' ornaments!

7. FREE Guided Tours

Time: 11am, 2pm (English Tours)

Embark on a deep dive into the Singaporean Indian Community as our docents bring you on a free, tour of IHC's Permanent Galleries! Just head over to our Level 1 Lobby to kickstart the tour!

1. Tanjore Art Workshop

This multi-sensory heritage workshop introduces the rich history and traditional trades of the Little India precinct to our younger audiences! Curated by Sharva and Indus Collective, this workshop brings together authentic heritage artisans and cultural experts to lead children through three dynamic, interactive chapters mirroring the foundational trades of Little India!
