Ring in the new year with the Indian Heritage Centre’s (IHC) annual Pongal Open House 2026, taking place across two weekends on 10, 11, 17 and 18 January! This year’s Open House invites visitors to the warmth of a village-themed celebration that spotlights the significance of community during the harvest celebrations.  1. FREE Cultural Performances

 Time: 11 am – 4 pm

Immerse yourself in vibrant folk performances and dramatised storytelling skits that bring the vibrancy of village life to the stage. Come down to enjoy them live and soak in the festive spirit with the community.

Performances on 18th Jan will start at 2pm.

2. LIVE Pottery Demo

 Date: 10th & 11th Jan 2026

 Time: 10 am – 5 pm

Catch master potter Shri V.K. Munusamy from Villianur, India, in action as he brings the art of traditional pottery to life. He’ll be crafting miniature Pongal pots on the spot, and lucky visitors will get to bring one home as a keepsake.

Jump into the festive fun with hands-on crafts for everyone!

  • DIY Cattle Toy (10th & 11th Jan 2026)

    Decorate your very own cattle toy, inspired by traditional hand-carved Indian folk designs.
